Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Bob Dylan, CCR, Huey Lewis and the News, Bob Marley, Bob Seger, Jimi Hendrix, AC\DC, The Beatles, and way too many others to think of. I really wish I had been born in the 50's so I could experience the 60's and 70's as I am now. Unbelievable... 😲
A good friend at work really likes Tool and asked me to give them a try. I found it unlistenable--along the lines of Dead Kennedys, Sex Pistols, etc. Just screeching instead of singing.
But hey, I'm old. To each, his own.

He ain't my cup of tea either but you could much worse than him pipewise, IMHO.
Originally posted by darvlayMGMT and Spoon are playing a show along with Beck in Cali this fall. Sounds like one of those 'dream shows' you dream about. Although I'd replace Beck with Wilco.

--Are the Butthole Surfers passe? That's the last "new group" I heard reference to; it was on Jay Leno and Gillian Anderson plugged them, so to speak.
Originally posted by Frank BurnsTrue that. Also, it may have something to do with the idea that twirling your rod onstage in front of 20,000 or more people doesn't appear like work. The downside, and the part most people never see is breaking down the equipment and loading a tour bus out at 2 a.m., or sleeping on a pool table and having to eat cold pizza and drink warm beer for breakfast.
Probably because we wish we could be in a band that gets all the hot chicks.
