Nope. You can't go wrong buying a Vox amplifier (best ones on world for electric guitars).
My only caveat is if you can afford a few more bucks, try to buy the model that delivers the highest output power.
Not entirely necessary, but you will be happy tomorow with your amplifier if you need some extra output watts 🙂

Cheers!

I was in a music shop today. And I was eying a couple of them up. And, oh, how they have changed. All these amps have gone techno mad. They all have flasing lights and added effects and stuff. Why can't theyy keep it simple and just have amps being amps. If I want added effects, I would buy an effects pedal if you know what I mean?!

There aren't too many amps you can get for 100 Pounds that sound any good. But it all depends on what you want it for. If you're looking for an amp to gig with, I like the Fender DeVille 4x10. It's about $1000 CAN and it sounds great.

the line6 spider (spider?) is only about £120 and is rather nice. There's an amazing guitarist on buchananananan street in Glasgow (he's a busker) who uses one. he's a bit of a legend around here...

i recently blew my old amp, although it was rather cruddy. it needs a new pre-amp or amplifier chip and it's just to much work for something i've done without for most of my time as a guitarist (i've been playing for about 2 years now and only just got an amp at the start of the summer). i'll probubly get a second hand one for summer...
