it looked interesting, but i havn't seen it yet
it's the kind of film you would have to have no expectations whatsoever to enjoy
a guy i know had this to say:
Sh-t explodes. Buildings fall. People die. 9-11-esque scenes are used that filled me with the same horrible feelings I had seven years ago. People I would consider massive wastes of oxygen turn into people I care about. Then explode.
Though it's filmed completely with a hand-camera, lacking any true plot aside from what you get out of the film yourself, Cloverfield is a great movie. It's what we would call 'our Godzilla', since King Kong was actually the hero of his movie and everyone loves him.
Don't go in expecting a masterpeice though. As with every movie since LotR, go in expecting a monster crashing through the city and kicking the sh-t out of everything it encounters, but in fleeting images captured as the camera guy runs for his life.
Go in expecting nothing, and maybe you'll get something great out of it.

Where did my taste for Wenders, Bergman, and Lars von Trier go?
:'(

No matter almost 2 decades have passed, I still get those panic
attacks I got in my teens while my bohemian coolness got
surprised while listening Ricky Martin or watching Police Academy.
