I can assure you that it is most certainly nothing to do with this site. And as a subscriber, you would never see ads anyway.
I suspect you might have installed (or had preinstalled?) some ad ware that monitors your browsing and then fires ads at you? Remember, NEVER install anything from the internet unless you are 110% sure you know what you are installing.

Originally posted by Jarede88I recently had this exact problem with another site. I have a firewall, and virus protection, which made me pretty worried about what's happening - I also ran an anti-spyware program (Add-aware), which did delete some unsavory stuff, but the problem remained. I think there was a single program there that couldn't be deleted as it was running. Add-aware tried to re-boot and delete it, but I don't think it succeded in that... I haven't had time to really look into the problem yet, but what I intend to do is go to safe-mode, and run Add-aware from there.

In the meanwhile, what I did was switch to using Mozilla as a browser. The problem doesn't manifest itself on Mozilla. Now I can't for the life of me figure out why I ever used Explorer - Mozilla is GREAT! ๐
If I find a fix to the problem, I'll let you know.

Perhaps installing an aggressive firewall would help.
After it is first installed, it will stop every attempt at communication between your computer and the internet, in either direction. It will then ask for your permission to allow it or block it. You will have the option to identify which connections to always allow, and which to always block.
If you do a lot of browsing on the net it will be aggravating for a while, but it will eventually "learn" your browsing habits and help stop unwanted connections.
At least that's how I think it's supposed to work....

p.s. Here's where you can get a freeware firewall. Worth a try..
