Taking away from a kid can be just as traumatic, if not more so in some cases, than a smack on the bum.
I NEVER want to punish any of my kids. Unfortunately they need to have certain things imprinted and if a spanking will drive the point home, then I will do it, even though it hurts me to see a child cry.

You are showing that hitting is the proper thing to do, and that is so far from reality.
Not even for a second do I think taking something away is going to scar a kid like smacking them is going to. It will come back to haunt you years down the road.
What are you going to do when the spanking don't work anymore?
Hitting Kids is just plain WRONG!

Part-time parenting usually ends up with kids who don't listen to their parents.

The difference between us is I am a better father than you. I don't hit & you do. You hit because that is the only way you see to handle a problem with your child. That is sad and pathetic, the same as your name calling is. It proves what kind of a character you have.

If it stops and makes just one person think, then decide this is not the kind of thing they should be doing, then I have accomplished something!
(In this case not about me, but I agree with uzless)
How many children have you raised? I have taken kids in that have been abused. You might find this hard to believe, but it all started out as spankings and progressed from there. I know what I am talking about!
