Please change the location in your profile. That is a very derogatory comment to the many fine citizens of the world who are handicapped.
Thanks
On a serious note I worked for a local charity for ten years. On one trip I took a lady in a wheelchair on a pilgrimage to Lourdes. It was a magical fantasy, the sun shone, and I carefully wheeled her into the sacred font. We stayed there for what seemed like a lifetime as she closed her eyes and prayed. And i swear to you that was the last time that she ever used that wheelchair.

Yes and the father of a profoundly handicapped young man. I've been around the profoundly handicapped for some 30 years and I find the word retarded to be offensive.
I have already (3 hours ago) been asked by a young lady to remove semi-retarded - as soon as someone gives me something better to replace it with you can consider it done.
Ever smiled?

Hi. My name is Danny. I have been a non-smoker for 22 days. I smoked (cigarettes) for the past 11 years & although I feel like sh*t right now ... I know that (this immediate torture that I am going through) will soon go away.
I just wanted to let all you guys & girls know that I have not been in a good mood lately.
Also, that I have been very emo ...[text shortened]...
So, anyway, I just wanted to let you all know that I am a non-smoker & proud to be too!!!

It's pretty tough, but anything is possible (I geuss). Thankfully the cold sweats have past & the physical cravings no longer exist.
The rest is just psychological.
It actually feels good to get some of this "crap" out of my head & in-turn receive all these warm wishesπ³
It has done me wonders today. Actually, today has been the best day since I've stopped.
So, there you have it. The RHP community/family rocks.π
Glad to be a part of it.

I tell you when I quit, I purposely did so on December 28th. You know how they say 3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months are the big 3 hurdles? Well I wanted to put it to the test. On my third day was New Year's Eve. I went to this big, rockin' house party where EVERYBODY was smoking. I mean everybody. Full ashtrays in every room. I literally stared at ashtrays all night and spaced out when people tried talking to me. But I told myself, "Self, if you make it past tonight then every craving after this will be a cakewalk to get through." I convinced myself that this was the case. As it happens, I didn't even take a drag that night and have not smoked since that day. Everytime I get a craving I think back to that New Year's party and say to myself "Self, this is nothing."
Hopefully this little anecdote will help you...
