I don't know what this guy uses somekinda toothpick.. or something very strange.. but he is real guitarist.. bloody damn good one too.
Carlos Santana makes me want to take a cheese grater to my ears. All his albums suck and all his solos sound exactly the same - like crap.

You heard my solos..

Can I get sent to jail if I let him hear my solo and he kills himself?
The perfect murder 😀

I'll second that! Although if you play a mandolin you usually need one.
I just got these picks from Meadow wood instuments, near
Kutztown, a great little music shop, he fixes and builds instruments.
Anyway these picks are the fararri of picks, made of Kevlar(the
stuff they make bullet proof vests out of) so they are virtually
indestructable. Also they are the only picks I ever saw that were
fine tuned to be used by a lefty or a righty, differant pitch cuts
curled into the edges kind of like boomerangs, they come in
various thicknesses, mine is about one mm. Its symetrically
cut triangular shape means you can just pick it up and you don't
have to even look at it to see if its at the right angle.
It also has 5 or 6 small holes in the center area so it helps hold
it to your fingers, doesn't slide around. Great pick. Also the most
expensive pick I ever saw at 7 Dollars US, EACH!
I used to lose picks all the time but at that price I keep them in
my memory where they are like my glasses.
As a pick, they work better than any other ones I ever used.

Apparently you have not heard of such guitarists as
Carlos Montoya or Trini Lopez or any decent flamenco artist
such as Manitas De Plata or Sabicas.

AND you have one less credit card to worry about. Works in
an emergendy though, but after I got those kevlar picks, nothing
is the same any more.

I must admit I like flamenco but know of 0 artist.
I not been playing long.. I got my guitar last xmas.. so I been playing about a year.. (not non stop) so probably have about 3month experience if I added all the hours up. And finger style seams rather complex.. And I yet to get an accoustic.. yes I know you can finger pick on electric.. but I think it would be easier to learn on acoustic

I sent in a guitar solo, my own composition, called The River
which is totally fingerpicked. Listen to it, you will see it enables
you to get tones impossible with a pick. The thing you get with
fingers is various types of contact textures, you can pick the
string with the fleshy part of your finger for a softer tone and
then with just a small shift in position go back to using your
fingernail for a more pecussive flatpick kind of sound.
It makes the total effect on the music more expressive.
Well my wife thinks that just because its our anniversery
I need to pay attention to her so have to wave off for now.

You got them from a woodwind instrument shop!? Are they clarinet picks?

The shop is called Meadow wood. Just fiddles, mandolins, guitars
and banjo's. Clarinet picks are sold across the street.
