You all take yourselves ridiculously seriously, not a single one of you has a sense of humor, every one of you thinks you're going to get discovered, and you're too freaking loud for the rooms y ...[text shortened]... bottom of the New York barrel. For such a great city, the people in it sure are pieces of shit.
Chancre is still jealous though. The Braves have won their division how many years in a row? And in all those years, how many World Series' did they win? One? That's pathetic. I don't blame him for having a deep-seeded resentment for the Yankees.

Spoken like a true Philadelphian. 😛 That's one of the things that makes NY a great city. It's such a huge melting pot with all sorts of people. You're right, there are a lot of people who are constantly going on about their job or all the stuff they own or the money they're making...etc. There are also many many other kinds of unpretentious, interesting and cool people. I grew up just outside Manhattan, but went to college in Boston. People in Boston were constantly going on and on comparing themselves to NY. In NY though, Boston hardly ever comes up in conversation. My brother lives in Philadelphia and I've noticed the same thing....blah, blah, blah...NY this, NY that. Let's face it, NY is a great city with a lot to offer, and many different kinds of people. Boston and Philadelphia are also great cities, so what's with the constant New York bashing? A little insecurity perhaps?

Oh and by the way Sasquatch, I only posted that comment AFTER he said the Yankees were a "team full of rump-rangers". You may not have seen that. He hid it in my previous post like a wuss.

Grits and Garth Brooks....or...."Rump-Rangers"?

I'd say I went easy on him.

I've yet to meet a New Yorker who didn't give me a full financial disclosure within the first five minutes of meeting them. I think it's New Yorkers who are insecure, because there ...[text shortened]... many stratospheric economic levels and it's around you everywhere you go if you're from there.
Yeah, I know what you mean about that. It annoys me too and I'm from there. I notice it more now that I live in a different part of the country. There is a lot of that in the NY area but again, there are a lot of normal, decent people too. Actually I've lived in several different states and I'd say the one with the nicest, most unpretentious people was Connecticut. Good strip bars too. 😉
