I’ve been in the situation with a mountain lion walking up my fence line but didn’t see it until around 40 yards away. It proceeded to walk by me around 30 feet away. I didn’t feel fear just what I could do if it jumped over the fence I was beside. It went by making a weird whimpering kind of sound looking at the ground.
