But still, I've been there, done that - I want something a little more dangerous and less practical. Yeah, that doesn't seem normal, but I just want something fun - stick, rear wheel drive, fast - seems good.

worst buy you could make though is a used sports car. Why you may ask? Because generally speaking, they have been run into the ground which is the only reason you could buy one for the money you are talking. If you enjoy working on cars and want to learn how to fix them yourself, then, by all means, run out and buy one and pour all of your money into you car. If, on the other hand, you have no desire to be a grease monkey, and you would prefer to spend your money on going out with girls and such, then buy somthing sensible and solid. Your move chief!

Hm, that's a good suggestion actually. I've driven one - where I valet - but it's auto (I think it's a Cabrio, don't know if that's the same thing you're talking about). For 1,500 though, that's definitely worth a shot.

no..i am refering to the earlier ones that look like a box..come only in four colors...the later versions were made in the 1980 or later period...they may
have had auto and were more beetle looking.

That is my favorite part too. When they come back with experience and say "Wow, you were right, I should have listened in the beginning". Parents love those moments. 😀

Well I already know that a lot of bad things can happen with a used sports car, but I have a reliable car already. And it's boring as F***, I want a fun summer car - that's really the only time I'll be driving over the next few years anyway while I'm off at college - assuming I get accepted. 😕

I too am looking for a used car around the 10k mark (euro) I was looking at the ford focus, Ford are generally a solid car, good make. Also looking at the alfa romeo 147 sportivo, looks nice, but I dunno if it's solid.
