But on further thought I've come up with a possible defense.
Let us assume that the insects are controlled by the aliens and would stop the attack if we could get rid of the aliens. We wouldn't be able to destroy the alien ships or anything like that cos their technology is just way too powerful but it would be possible to disrupt the communication signal by generating a 'anti-signal' resonating at some frequency similar to the 'alien/insect signal'.
I think it could work...guerilla tactics

If you mean talk to, the bugs would be too stupid to understand. If you mean grant sentience to, the bugs would just start squabbling with each other, and as a consequence, their efforts against mankind would be a bit sporadic - they'd hate each other more than us. If you mean control, it wouldn't really be the bugs overpowering the humans, it'd be the aliens overpowering us. If the aliens are that invincible, it doesn't really matter what weapon they use, more why they are attacking us in the first place.

What does everyone think would happen if aliens (which havent been confirmed as existent) come down from a galaxy far far away and train dead people (who are....well, dead) to take over the planet, just by hitting humans with baked beans?
Oh what fun we had sitting around making up rubbish....
