I know a lot of people are stating that saddam was NOT removed according to international Law. Do you agree with them ?

I wouldn't support the execution of Saddam Hussein, either by the US, or an international court or the Iraqi people themselves. My position is that the death penalty is morally wrong. Nevertheless, when I introspect, I recognize that within me there is the desire for Saddam Hussein to suffer and die for what he has done. I have not tried to philosophically ...[text shortened]... a philosophical defense for a position I explicity claim has none. That would be uncharitable.

I would like to emphasise that this is an opinion and not a fact. It has not been established by an international body, nor by the International Court in The Hague, nor has there been a resolution in that direction by the Assembly of the United Nations nor by the Security Council of the United Nations. Therefore you cannot bring it forward as an established judicial fact. It's an opinion. Maybe you would be surprised of the outcome of the procedure if this issue was brought before the International Court. It is by no means certain that the International Court would make a decision in favour of your opinion.
If the International Court of Justice would decide that the actions of the allies were indeed lawful, then I assume that you would not have any objections to the war because in that case it would have been established that the decision of the allies to wage war on the Saddam Hussein regime was indeed legal. Am I correct ?
bbarr i feel that you and i are almost exact opposites yet curiously arrive at a similar confusion about saddam's punishment,
i believe any point can be argued using logic. similarly red-blooded-SVW-style blind and stupid desire can follow any conviction.
i do not want to see saddam killed for one simple reason,
by killing him he will then not reach a fair trial, a fair trial where the whole truth can come out.
where others can be implicated.
i suspect he did not do this alone.

An abivalent fool is still a fool. As seen with bbar. He still to his dying breath will support Sadaams right to murder millions. Yet he hates the thought of him being executed. A lack of perspective? Yes. Evil? Yes.
Weird. I hate this world and boobs like bbar who make it a terrible place to live. Truth.

i do remember bbarr trying to rationally deal with such situations if and when they arise.
i remember you trying to work out what to do also, but not with the same rational method, you have a different method.
you are on the same team, bbarr and you play different positions, that is all,
i suspect he is either captain or coach.
