it certainly is a very sympathetic portrait. i don't really know enough about the man to venture an opinion on how true to life it is, or how much it has been romanticised. At some later stage of his life, he must have come to the conclusion that killing people can be an acceptable means to a political end, but we don't see the seeds of that darker side of the coin in this movie.
And Che has been mythologised so much: look at how often we see that famous image on a tee-shirt or whatever. It's difficult to know where the truth ends and the myths begin.
