He has probably started games against 1800s, you should check. He is using CM10 to make his moves. Even if he isnt playing 1800's JW cant beat a 1200 player less alone a 1500. I know you have just come to the site so you dont know how much JW sucks at chess and how much he lies. You should look at his games closely and check if he is cheating or not, and not just defend him because you are in his clan.

I like to add to those very few who still think that he's not cheating that he probably doesn't use an engine in every game ...
Hence you have a very easy chance to win against him if his engine is switched off, since he is a 1100-1300 player...
I have really enough to see a lot of my mates and friends leaving RHP for the sake of people like James Woodly. Russ, evidence is mounting, so please consider setting an example.

it is possible to increase your rating quickly, my rating went from about 1200 to almost 1400 in a month or two, this is robably just a lucky spell but i have not had more than 10 games in progress at a time and i feel this is definatly helping my chess to improve.
I admit it does look a bit sus, but i think if he says he is not cheating we sould just say ok and move on.
I agree that cheating is bad and should not happen, but arguing like this is just even worse.

1200 to 1400, well done ... That's possible 1200 to 1500 even that ... But not from 1100-1300 to almost 1800 in such a short time.
There is an elemental understanding behind chess that cannot be taught in such a short time. I know people that have played chess for over 20 years and they have never reached a rating above 2000 despite taking the sport serious ... Why ? Because they simply don't have that elemental understanding. I once had training from an International master and despite my rating soaring throughout that year to over 2000 (from around 1800) I made little progress after that, why ?? Cause I'm lacking that elemental understanding...
So based on what I've seen from James Woodley at an early stage it is clear that he is cheating and I'm very dissapointed that Russ is ignoring the subject ... But no news, he ignored the Notte in Bianco problem concerning the clan leagues ...

[/b]To which i think looks true, but if you look at his graph, when he was going from 1100 to about 1500-1550ish, he had not played anyone rated over 1500, this can help your rating go up a lot and not mean your that good, i was in a few tournaments and got lower rated players so i think that is why my rating has gone up so well, but i would have to say that maybe it is possible for him to have got to 1500 quite easliy, i would have to agree though that to then get to 1800 would be a lot more difficult..my dad plays about 1500-1600 and no matter how hard he tries he just doesnt beat higher rated players.
But the piont i was trying to make is that we should just leave this to russ and james, it is not our problem, so why dont we just stop, as all these threads do is say ban jw and we have all heared it so much its getting a little annoying!
