10 people see a man crossing the street, being hit by a blue toyota.

There will be different accounts as to the average speed the car was traveling at, but the blue toyota would probably be remembered. If 1 out of 10 people said it was a green Toyota, his story would probably be thrown out.

Church conspiracy has little to do with original text. I can't represent the Church. As we know there any indeed many churches that act in a way they shouldn't , however early churches seemed to treat biblical accuracy with extreme seriousness.

PS, the missing text is called the 'gospel of St Thomas'. See the movie Stigmate.

I have read it, but it is believed to be fraudulant. It completely contradicts other Biblical chapters, hence it was not taken seriously.

Of course if 9 out of 10 people say that it was a green toyota, with only one account for blue toyota, Then on this basis the correct story would be thrown out.😉
