Letting Go Ain't Easy

No it certainly isn't... not in the crisis and clinch moments of major challenges, in social life or in love. Though I've no business at all doing so

and though it's past bedtime at Seniorsville, USA, decided to allow one last thread. Topic is 'simplicity'. How often is the best move in a chess

game the simple one? How often is simple food the very best choice? How often are whole chapters of happiness and/or unhappiness on earth

ultimately decided by the simplest of all possible decisions... setting correct daily priorities and knowing when to say 'yes' and when to say 'no'.

'Maybe' doesn't count because it's a dumb code word for never. Daily decisions are the equivalent of intersections. Accelerate when the light's

red and sooner or later you'll be broadsided. Sit there when it's green and you'll be on the receiving end of a rear collision whiplash. This nuts

and bolts simplicity perspective isn't taught seriously in most homes or churches or colleges. Result is that wonderful people hurt unecessarily.

Life is simple but people make it complicated. It isn't easy to move from complicated to simple but what works is "just for today I will try to keep it simple."Do that every day and embrace the fact that life is mysterious and we don't have all the answers and find contentment that we don't know what is around the corner, but we are in a sharing community where no one else does!

Question/ What am I at this moment?
Answer/ The result of all the decisions I have made in my life.

Question/ What is the hardest thing I have to do?
Answer/ Make a decision about something.

Question/ Why are various religions and sects so compellingly magnetic to humans?
Answer/ Because the leaders are always happy to make all the decisions for their flocks.

Question/ What does "maybe" mean?
Answer/ It means I have made a decision not to make a decision.

Question/ What is the only decision that most people are happy to make quickly?
Answer/ The decision to say maybe.

Yes it is. If you're thinking it......do it. How simple and easy is that?

What's easier, letting go of someone's throat(metaphorically or physically) when you have a perfectly executed strangle hold going or letting go of someone reaching for help, but, dragging you down (again metaphorically or physically)?

We can have anything,do anything, but there is a price tag attached to all things.

Everything has a price tag yes but if you, as a "normal", thinking human being, make a decision to do whatever there are always consequences to them be they good consequences or bad but you have made the choice to "do it". Live with those choices. You want or think you want to end something, the fact that you're even contemplating it says that it's probably time to do so.

for the last few years my mantra has been: simplify, simplify, simplify.

it works in chess, stress, work, writing, relationships and especially in existential crisis. when you cut off all the fluff, the essential suddenly becomes self-evident.

less is more.

"Maybe" means I'll make an informed decision after getting more information or processing what I know. Should I move? Get a new job? Get married? Get divorced? Have children? Put the old folks in a care home? Drive through the intersection without stopping? Play E6? Maybe. But I might need more information first. What color is the stop light? Is there a queen on E5? Do I have a potential spouse or just tickets to Vegas? Do I want a divorce because my partner is annoying and boring or cruel and a bully? Am I old enough to have, raise, and support children, or am I 15 and lonely or expecting the baby to save the marriage?

"Maybe" is a tool for intelligent people, no matter how it's used by others.
