Loyalty...

Loyalty (whether horizontal or vertical, internal or external) is number one. All else floats

around with second rate flotsam and jetsam between ninety and one hundred. Discuss.

Unless you're being sarcastic, you seem to be saying that loyalty is all that matters.
What about truth, honesty and integrity? Could you translate your statement into
pablum for those of us at the common denominator level?

There are different types of loyalty. One can be loyal to another for ulterior motives, or motives that are pure, such as friendship. Loyalty can not be measured or weighed, but is real none the less.

I find the quality of honor to be paramount in my thinking.

I would choose pure love over loyalty. Loyalty may not be pure.

Loyalty is merely a means to an end in the survival stakes and for all intents and purposes it's a lower level of consideration than the formation of moral and epistemic frameworks. Justification and the removal of inconsistency, both moral and epistemic, blow loyalty out of the water.

Well folks in the Mafia and drug gangs prize loyalty.......

Paul had another slant on it:

"But now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; and the greatest of these is love."

Jews, Ovens and Concentration Camp Guards spring to mind. Do you suppose it was loyalty that made them do it? Perhaps it was just Wagner.

Horizontal Loyalty
Not passing wind in a conga line.

Vertical Loyalty
Holding a lady's hair up while they're being sick.

Internal Loyalty
When touching cloth with no nearby conveniences, your bowels hold on just long enough for you to find a safe drop zone.

External Loyalty
Owning up to your silent farts in public areas.

as always, GB has an agenda here. in this case, he's having a dig at a couple of people he thinks haven't shown sufficient loyalty to his cause lately.

and, of course, he gets off on people discussing what he directs them to.

loyalty is a temporal value.

honesty is a value between people.

the highest good a human can aspire to is graditude.

there are higher and better values but they they belong to those who are not human.

( i hear that the V lizards like teriyaki chinese and or egyptians on roast pork ).
