some people would drink warm beer... not me but i do prefer lukewarm mango over refrigerated mango. for me eating a freezing cold mango is just like drinking a warm beer. but whatever floats your boat.

ok, i'm going to shut up about rugby until aft ...[text shortened]... t was soft on the outside and smaller than your regular melon that we get here. sooooo good.
I have always wanted to go to Peru, ever since i was a kid, its just, majestic.

yeah we had those little biddy bananas as well, they grew wild in some places. but it was the oranges, my goodness they smelt and tasted orangey! sweet , not like the lemons we get here!

The melons were huge, the dude would put up a tent and sit in the shade with this huge pile of gigantic water melons beside him. Again very refreshing when refrigerated, but i wont push your sensibilities too far!

you know what i miss, you used to get street vendors pushing their barrows with lots of good things, shouting out, like a kind of human ice cream van, tomatoes, bindi, aloe (potatoes), or the guy on the street corner selling golden Samosas, freshly made and straight from the hot oil.

Did you go into the interior in Peru? it just looks utterly stunning.

Lol, i dont deny it.

Actually on a rather serious note i was speaking with my friend from Texas and he was telling me of the dangers that Mexicans face trying to cross the border. Some poor souls die of exposure in that desert. I wondered why Mexico is so bad that persons wanted to leave it, risking life and at the mercy of unscrupulous employers. Is it the corruption? the police brutality? violence and drugs? what it is Setitse?
It's the water there that makes them risk it all to leave.

au yes street vendors... one of my favorite pastimes was bartering with the old ladies trying to get the normal price. i tried just about everything from the street vendors... bull testicles, civiche... stoped short at the quail eggs though, just found that bizarre. something that we pay a small fortune here for sold for mittens at a street vendor. plus i just don't like boiled eggs.

peru is awesome seriously... i was the same, always wanted to go but never knew why. spent 2 1/2 months in and around huaraz... my favorite place i've ever been to. just beautiful. lima is also nice in its crazy way though. check out the route from cuszo to puerto maldonaldo, did it on a bus. i'd love to say that it was the worse road i was on in s. america.

the watermelon that actually tasted of something 😀 just all round far superior fruit than we have here. i'll let you off with putting it in the fridge.. 😛

Mexican water, from what I've heard, has Giardia in it, but so does the local water here in the mountains. Most Mexicans and Colorado locals have built up an immunity to it.

Friend of mine is allergic to mango (not uncommon);
thought one could prevent the lip irritation by placing mango directly in
mouth bypassing lips entirely. It is so delicious, why not take the chance?

As it turns out, lips aren't the only thing on the human body that can experience
allergic effects.
