My love affair with this company continues. Ran MS update the other day and it decided i was running a pirated copy of XP. I wouldn't mind too much if i actually was running a pirated copy but on this occasion i just happen to be running an official copy! Has anyone else had this problem? I've run MS validation twice now but it still won't accept it's wrong. 🙁

And it is not able to be uninstalled once you have it. [unless you do a complete format]
M$ should help you over the phone but with them.....who knows?

you can uninstall it, you need to go to add/remove and click on windows components

select installs of security updates. Also I never use error reporting, even though I have all fully licensed/legal MS bugware on my laptop.
They grab your IP when you error report... I don't know why but that bothers me to no end.

Sadly, it is a matter of convienence.
You can't walk into an office supply store and grab a Mac where I live, and I suppose much is the same elsewhere.
They simply get the job done (most of the time)
That being said, I have a linux system too now, and will be trying a mac as soon as I have the need and $ for a new platform.
