yes, it made me realise how overrated he really was; all that shaking and slurring, burger eating, lip rasing.... if he did that now you'd think it was a circus act
Oh, and then there's his music. Elvis was very talented. He had an amazing voice. Unfortunately, he was a spoiled neurotic rock star (very similar to many we have today). He was a hillbilly kid who was suddenly catapulted into mega-stardom. How would you handle that?
I'm sure many of today's groundbreaking bands will look a little silly 50 years from now. You're probably safe though. I seriously doubt you listen to anything that could be considered groundbreaking.
I can't say I like all of Elvis' music, but he did do a lot to help create the modern music scene we have today. I'm thankful for that.

Sure, I think that Elvis was a bit of a hack in the sense that he was the great white hope used and pimped by smart businessmen to bring so-called black music to the mainstream and benefit financially.
