Well I really don't think these old geeks like Diamond and Bill Haley are good. They can't sing and their music is boring. Paris Hilton alone is better than most artists from 50s and 60s combined.

Well, when I think of these artists I leave out what they are doing now or even in the past 10 or 20 years. Of course they are going to stink it up, look at Paul McCartney! I just think of what they HAD done.

One moment I remember was driving a fish delivery truck back in the 90's or so. Next up on the radio is some new Niel Young. I was prepared for the WORSTESST!

Guess what song it was?! Rocking in the Free World! I went APE! ROCK IT@!

yes, it made me realise how overrated he really was; all that shaking and slurring, burger eating, lip rasing.... if he did that now you'd think it was a circus act
But when he first broke through he changed a nation.... he was the creator of rock and roll!!!

Jesus! That guy got more free press than anyone I know, and his career ended when he was 33.

EDIT: Do you really think it was that hard carrying the cross? Look at his abs!! That guy must have worked out 24/7.

That's 6 more years than too many artists.

Lol!! Did you read the section about the less prominent musicians who died at 27? Here's my favourite entry:

Name: Robert Johnson (he's "less prominent"?!?)
Date of Death: August 16, 1938
Cause of Death: Pneumonia following strychnine poisoning!!!
Fame: Bluesman

Followed closely by:

Name: Louis Chauvin
Date of Death: March 26, 1908
Cause of Death: Syphilis (hehehe...)
Fame: Ragtime musician

Today it's all car crashes and overdoses. Entertainers really knew how to die back then.

I was going to post Kenny G but I decided I better read all the posts first to make sure no one else put him down.

I mean, christ almighty, I play sax better than this fool.

But I suppose I should give him credit for continuing to play past high school, as bad as he is.
