Woodgie, I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or for real about the hard drive thing.
Disks should be sized according to need and budget. Seek time doesn't increase as a function of storage size. It describes a physical relocation of the drive head, not a "seek" through data on the volume. Things like rotational speed, max seek time, buffer size and m ...[text shortened]... 40gb to an 80gb drive. So the price/size sweet spot is definitely above 80gb at this point.
Yeah, I had to go out and buy another hard drive just to install it. 😕

I managed to get most of it done, but to be honest....the hard drives ended up being guess work. The mother board came with a cable marked HDD that didn't fit my hard drives. ended up connecting them with serial ATA cables, and only used one cable to attach both to the power supply.....i fear the outcome, but given a square peg, and very little in the way of holeage.....We can only hope 😛
as for the one cable being used to the power, that shouldnt make any difference
