Hi Mike,

I had good success with early girls and romas last summer. Good results with jubilee as a grape tomato...excellent producer 2 plants kept me in grape tomatoes all summer from July to October!

This year I'm looking into heritage varieties like brandywine and then I can save the seed for next year!

Haven't had a lot of success with asparagus yet, I envy you there. I do the squash, peppers, cukes, (mmm homemade pickles) potatoes, onions and garlic. Lots of staggered lettuce plantings with radishes, carrots and beets. Gotta' have my beans and peas too😲 Hey is it spring yet? I can't wait😏

Happy New Year
Charlie

PS I'm gonna' try to grow a super pumpkin this year. If I succeed it's name will be Prad and there will be pictures available🙄

Hi Prad,

Squash blossoms at one time were all the rage in "noveau cuisine". and they are quite edible. Usualy you'll have more squash than you know what to do with, so try some blossoms for a change!

Happy New Year,
Charlie
we used to fry the flowers in batter many years ago.

you can also bake (or fry if you really want to) pumpkin seeds in some cayenne and garlic powder and some braggs (liquid aminos) - delicious!

This has got me thinking, does anyone order seeds online? It's almost time for pre planting.

Hi Mike,
That's about the only way I will order anymore. Who do you buy from? I like Jung, Parks and a few others. Absolutely will never buy from Gurney's again, after last year!

Regards,
Charlie

PS. You are right, the time is getting close for starting indoors😏 I'm going to straighten up my section of the basement today and get things ready😵

I have not ordered online yet, I usually put it off until it's too late. Not this year! Have ever tried growing horse radish? Everyone was out last year.😞

Hi Mike,
I have a nice batch of 5, 2 year old horseradish plants growing behind the house. Totally forgot to harvest last fall😳 Busy with a new job and a remodeling project! They should have some nice roots this spring

Regards,
Charlie
