I'm doing an annoying "find out using the internet" work quiz. I figure you're all on the internet so it's ok!

cheers

It's clearly a Rowntree's Fruit Pastille that someone has sucked all the sugar off. Why are you all so slow?

It may also be a rusty trombone mouthpiece. Or the fruit pastille. Not sure, actually.

My monitor is so old and fuzzy that this game isn't fun to me. What a shame.

The focal plane aspect might mean something, that is to say
it looks like a small object in a macro shot which would put the
background out of focus. My guess is it might be a personal seal
they used to put on the old style envelopes, the ones with the dot
of wax. The pattern showing seems to be some kind of stylized
dragon or snake with legs, not sure if that is designed or like some
one said, burned and random but it looks designed.

Second guess, the bottom of a crutch, or maybe the bottom of
the leg of a chair or couch with rubber tip just worn in that pattern.
Or the butt of a cane. It could even be a doorknob.

No way.

The upper left element would have to be in line with the main part, not behind it.
