@ghost-of-a-duke saidI read a book many years ago by a Swedish writer "Jag vet" (I know), about her experiences during a surgery, some of what actually happened was verified by the surgeon and the operating crew. Strange and yet so believable.
It is an experience many people claim to have had. There is yet to be any evidence of this, which is surprising considering its apparent commonality. At best you find a few curious anecdotes, but nothing more than that.

@torunn saidYes, I've read similar accounts, which is why I used the word 'curious'. Evidence however would need to be done in controlled conditions to rule out certain factors. In the example you gave there are many things we don't know.

@ghost-of-a-duke saidIf I could find the book again I could give you the details. I'm trying.

The post that was quoted here has been removedThere are many books explaining how I left my body and was floating just below the ceiling...
As I said before, people write all sorts of books ~ if there's a market for something, regardless of what it is, there will be books about it. Some of these books end up in the occult section of bookshops.

The post that was quoted here has been removedPeople having shared experiences isn't really that surprising, bearing in mind our brains are constructed the same way. (A human having a shared experience with a koala would be more surprising). Take for example the commonality of having similar dreams (flying, falling, teeth falling out etc).
