Strong atheism is superficially the same; there is no God. However, a strong atheist would not change his position even in the face of overwhelming evidence, a conviction I consider on a par with fundamentalism (which, as David Dondero said, is ''just as bad as the Taliban...''😉.
Did anybody hear me call myself an athiest?
Fact is, you're using the word athiest when you really mean agnostic. That's the word that means lack of conviction. There are preachers; people who try to get me and other RHP users to convert to christianity. I feel these "preachings" have no place in the "General" forum.
Present company excluded; none of you guys have ever tried to turn me Christian. Other users have.
Agnosticism is the position of: ''I don't know/refuse to take a position/am unconvinced either way.''
Atheists should constantly re-evaluate their positions and think about things. Convictions are upsetting to the critical view of things that every atheist should take.
I'm sorry if I contrued your desire to not be converted as atheism; that was apparently a mistake and I apologize. Your post does, however, contain a confusion which I hope I have explained.
As to ''preaching'', I don't see why this is any different to my expressing a (hypothetical) desire not to see references to Douglas Adams' work in the general forum, which is absurd.

Did we pay to subscribe to this site to listen to evangelism? Put the evangelism in it's own forum. Why did nobody respond (besides Mr Pimp) when I said there would be NO problems in the forum had there been no evangelism by RBHILL?

bnut people are responding to them. if everyones so agaisnt them, why does everyone respond?
is it just me, or is it simple frikking logic. we all play chess. we all have at least some grasp of this rather simple thing, do we not?
I stand by my desire for a 'Rubbish' forum. Threads which have got out of hand, and ones which are generally considered annoying or offensive (eg multiple threads on the topic of non-believers going to Hell) can be moved to Rubbish, where people can still read, post etc if they want, but know not to expect anything good there. I usually disapprove of censorship, but I think that a gentle form of it would go a long way to tidying up the forums.
