Btw congratulations, that is quite an achievement in this day and age. I guessing you will have been together over 40 years. My wife and I will hit 34 years in a few months.

The (joke) scenario posed was that the partners were thought not to know, but did actually know. This renders your extra points nonsensical, as David probably would have known they knew, if they had confronted or left him.
