A video clip showing the policy in a Virginia school that does not allow touching of ANY kind, high 5's, handshakes (they can be a GANG secret sign) and ESPECIALLY no hugging. What a great message to give to kids, eh.

they shouldn't be allowed to speak to each other either.

or make eye contact, in fact they should all be taught at home through web-cams.

Didn't you just love the part about the handshake, could be a secret GANG WAR sign. Jeez. How long does it take to become a Canadian?

My favourite part was the woman justifying the no touch rule because there could be some kind of high-5 orgy in the hallway, and somebody might get tripped. 🙄

No shaking hands after baseball games. It's a state law.

Bite the back o' my filthy rain soaked trainers. You should probably take the blinders off and recognise the world around you... I got a thing for NAZI's the way the countries that claim to be free are breeding the same social fear amongst themselves. It's a completely different reference than my talk of the Orangemen.

Edit: Seriously. How can you claim that I'm over reacting in a thread about a school that is so afraid of what trouble might come that they are a school which bans handshakes?!?

Edit 2: I mean, how much worse do you think it should get before someone shouts "Holy crap! It's just like the NAZI's, we can't have this!?" Maybe we should just wait until half of everyone is in a cultural re-education centre.

That was my favorite part too. She clearly has serious misconceptions about the nature of high-5s. Maybe they did it wrong when she was in school. 1. They take place between two individuals, 2. There are no flying feet involved in a high-5.

Ahh, so that nazi comparison was completely different to the other nazi comparison that you made earlier today....my mistake. It's obviously the blinders that's doing it to me, happens all the time. my bad 😛

[/sarcasm]

That's sick. But sick rules about physical contact don't seem to be limited to the US. I heard about English preschools where the preschool teachers aren't allowed to have physical contact with the children. They were not allowed to put sun screen on the children, so they couldn't go out when the sun was shining unless the parents had put sun screen on the children. They also weren't allowed to take the children on their lap to comfort them.

I think denying small children the physical contact they crave is abuse, just as much as forcing physical contact on them when they don't want it.
