A bullet in the head wouldn't go amiss.

in self defense i would do the same thing, but im talking about when they are caught and arrested and have them; rather than killing them they could get them help

Originally posted by EcstremeVenomThe second one sounds good to me, but only in cases where the kids are pre pubescent......the rest should be beaten within an inch of their lifes and then jailed for a while.......second offence, see the second one.

They're called closed institutions (same as in Holland).
People are "imprisoned" for a short sentence, but are forced into psychological treatment, with Dr's deciding if they're fit for society (ala "one flew over the cuckoo's nest"😉.
Basically there's nothing wrong with pedophilia (from the viewpoint of the majority of pedophiles), it's just not tolerated in our society. So, it's difficult to describe it as a crime. It's more of a psychological difference.
The best treatments involve indoctrinating "clients" with a sense of devastation from the victims point of view. Again, basically, trying to set up a building block of morality/guilt (same method as used on sociopaths, obviously with different demographics).
It's also very difficult to understand pedophilia from a rational point of view; all you will see are victims.
One could, however, view pedophilia as abuse and look at various other forms of behaviour towards children which impairs them in later life:
- Patriotism (far fetched for those who believe in borders)
- Religion (clinging onto fantasies instead of reality)
- Forcing children to achieve when they can't (children beauty pageants, piano lessons, ball games, etc.)
- Not to get into a stranger's car (obviously sensible behaviour, but ultimately it teaches a child to be scared instead of self-assured).
Most people will recognise one of these examples. If they're rearing their childrend, they'll, more than likely, be doing one of the above, if not all of the above (and it's even frowned upon in various circles if you leave an item out).
As you don't realise the psychological effect of your behaviour on a child, neither do many pedophiles. And to many more of them, they consider their behaviour not any more detremental to a child's welfare, than many of the examples given.
Ach...I'm rambling on... where's my wine?
