@ghost-of-a-duke saidMine are in the “cloud”; which is code for “someone else’s computer”.
I think if I had asked this question 20 years ago people would have included 'photo album.' I guess these days we are keeping all our photos on our phones or Facebook etc.

@Ghost-of-a-Duke
1. Key to girlfriend's apt.
2. Taxi fare to cover ride to girlfriend's apt.
3. Packet of condoms.
Hypothetically.
@Ghost-of-a-Duke
1. Wallet
2. Phone
3. Other pair of glasses*
I'm trusting the cat either to be outside already, or to run out on her own.
*I might have to substitute clothes or a towel in some cases.
@torunn saidI like your list, Torunn. I might have to get a manbag (or put together a bug-out bag as in special-ops thrillers). I also forgot medicine for my list.
@Ghost-of-a-Duke
1. handbag (keep everything there)
2. medicines
3. cellphone
(I would also try grab post-its with passwords... π )

@ghost-of-a-duke saidEverything can be replaced, if not right away so at least gradually.
Important thread observation:
So far nobody has rescued anything from the kitchen or banqueting hall. (Although the whereabouts of Dive's non-human wife is uncertain).
In my handbag I have what makes my life continue at once: wallet and bank/credit cards, id, drivers licence, address-book, keys etc. That plus meds and phone should be sufficient for a while.

@ghost-of-a-duke saidWith a high degree of probability, the fire started in the kitchen. It would therefore be foolish to dash in there to rescue anything. Moreover, foodstuffs are easily replaceable. The sensible things to grab in a hurry are either things which cannot be replaced or things to get you through the next few days and nights.

@moonbus saidI would be very sad to lose things I love, such as paintings I have acquired, inherited,bought or won, really sorry but with the right perspective, life would just go on without them.

@patzering saidI agree. Maybe some people have special beer cellars?
I rescued my beer.
That's kitchen.
@moonbus saidIf it were a Saturday (food shopping day) I would attempt to carry out the fridge.
