ragging the puck
some sports contests are time constrained, others are not
when a team attains the lead in a game (for instance, hockey) and is not trying to run up the score, they will "rag the puck", or play keep away and not let the other team have a chance to score
this term is mainly heard in canada, altho i personally had never heard it said until a few days ago
american football calls the practice, "running out the clock"
stalling
causing a delay by deliberately engaging in time-wasting activities
i conflated this action with the writing habits of a few general forum denizens who waste each other's, and, indeed, everyone's time
and now you know what "ragging the puck" means to me
and, for edification, vietnam produces more coffee than indonesia
