Oh please. People like atheist Stalin lead me to believe that religion has NOTHING to do with such divisiveness, rather ,it is merely a tool at times for such divisiveness. In fact, you are obviously not religious and you come here to split hairs with everyone else?
Simply put, people have a natural propensity to suck, and when they start to suck, guess ...[text shortened]... r from myself or other people, it's time to get divisive and turn tail in the other direction.
Your logic is flawed. To move seamlessly from the premise that as soon as we learn to suck we become divisive is, quite simply, bollocks. I have nothing against Christianity, or you (I'm sure that, despite your views, you're very nice). Because, as Marx pointed out, religion is addictive, we need our fix, and that leads to obsessive compulsive behaviour patterns. Despite what you say I am a deeply spiritual person; I am, I suppose, a maverick because I don't feel the need to belong to an club.

I'm sure you luv eachother velly, velly much; but we don't need to be witnesses to it. You can keep such kissy-feelie things private.

Please don't mention Marx in the same breath as religion or spirituality.
Speaking of being divisive, hasn't he done enough to scourge the world via Marxism and the insidious world conflicts caused by his followers?
Don't get me wrong, religion can be used for our ill, however, pretty much anything can be used for our ill. However, have you ever read what the Bible says about religion? In James it says that a perfect religion is to visit the widow and the orphan. I wonder how many orphans and widows Marx visited. LOL.
Originally posted by whodeyDon't get me wrong, I'm not putting Marx forward as a role model - he had no interest in the condition of the poor (solely the means of production), he had a rigorous and Puritan creed that was intolerant of failure, but he did recognise the dangers of religion. Religion is a million miles away from spirituality, and the Christian church today is poles apart from Jesus's teaching. The Beatitides are wonderful, and life-affirming, but organised religion is hateful.

"Palestinian police stormed the basilica of the Nativity in Bethlehem after rival groups of Orthodox and Armenian clerics clashed in a row over the boundaries of their respective ancient jurisdictions inside the church. Armed with brooms, around 100 priests and monks came to blows during the cleaning of the church in preparation for Orthodox Christmas celebrations."
I rest my case.
