Here's one of my first aurora pictures of the season, taken on August 24 from my new location (less than five minutes walking from my flat, right at the sea): http://www.katja.klee24.de/20050824-06.JPG
I think one of the lights is from the ship my parents are on. 🙂 (They were sitting inside, drinking wine with a friend and missing the whole show...)

And here's my Self picture, "In My World": http://www.katja.klee24.de/Self2005-11.JPG 😳

Why the blushing smiley? Are you not happy with the result? I like it, the square crop works. The combination of the pose and the title makes for a dramatic and very personal image, I think. Great work. The only thing I think could be improved is the focus, which I think would be better of your hands were sharp. I assume that was your intention anyway? I thought about making a self picture using the timer option on my camera too, but I couldn't figure out how to get the focus where I wanted it.

By the way, Ragnorak, I liked your self picture too, interesting point of view. Did you take that one yourself?

No, that's why it was a dodgy non-entry. I spotted that it would make a great pic, and asked my gf to take the pic of me. I love the way the smallest of details in it makes it a great pic, in my humble opinion. 😳

Ah yes, I thought this would have to be that picture. That, or you would have to have an exceptionally long right arm to take that picture yourself. 😀
You're right about the details, I especially like the reflection in your sunglasses.

I was quite happy with the result, it turned out pretty much as I wanted. The focus was the main problem. My solution was to focus on a gym ball, and then replace the ball with myself. Probably not the best way to do it, and I didn't expect the focus to be exactly as I wanted. It still turned out better than I expected. The blushing smiley is because it's a very personal image (as you noticed), and I therefore felt a little uncomfortable sharing it.

Stimming ( http://aspiesforfreedom.org/wiki/index.php?title=Stimming ). Or actually pretending to stim, as I was posing. 😉

I somehow find the person to the left extremely distracting. Besides that, it's a good picture. What are you looking at?

Is SHYNE your shop?

I just remembered that I still haven't commented on the Series round... So, before I take out shavixmir's pictures as requested, here are my thoughts about this round. By the way, does anyone want me to add their name and copyright note to their pictures?

As I wrote when I voted, I found it very difficult to rank the entries, as they were so diverse. I especially had problems to put my top three - "Sunset Drive Home", "Body Language" and "Angel" - into the "right" order. The series aspect was certainly represented best in "Body Language", which I found both interesting and funny. As pictures, I liked essjay's sunset better, but the series aspect is not so prominent there. "Angel" has a bit of both. It's a nice series, giving an impression of the movement, but not as interesting as "Body Language". I really like the third picture, but the others are not as good as pictures, especially the second one where the foot is cut off (ouch 😉 ). I changed my mind about the ranking several times, and the final vote was somewhat arbitrary. If Ragnorak had ended up with just one point less than me, I would have been sorry that I hadn't given him 7 points, but luckily he wouldn't have won anyway, so I don't feel guilty. 😉

Dan's series and the way how they were presented were quite creative, but I think I would actually have preferred just the pictures. Maybe I am a bit of a purist. Most of the time I don't really like collages, they are too cluttered and make it difficult to see the individual pictures. But of course that's a matter of taste.

Are you serious? 🙂 The most important thing in that photo is the reflection in my shades. I really like that pic pretty much only because of the interesting perspective of Uluru (Ayers Rock) in Australia.

Yes, sorry. 😉 Now I looked at the picture again, and I still can't really make out Uluru, just that there is "something". The reflection is nice anyway, especially the reflection of the sky, which makes a connection between you and the surroundings. But I still find that person on the left very distracting. 😉 Maybe it's because I don't instinctively focus on faces (and especially the eye region) as much as most people do.
