Yesterday, I thought that I'd try some shetake mushrooms with my full English breakfast for a change, as I had never tried them before. I blindly went about cooking them in milk and butter in a sauce pan, as I usually do my button mushrooms.
Oh the disappointment! The result was a soggy, tastless mush of slimy musrooms with slug like qualities. I couldn't even finish them.
I was reliably informed by a friend last nigh that they should be fried in oil and butter. I tried this today and what a difference.
