Well that was about the worst weekend in N hemisphere rugby - the only team who can take any pride in their performance was Italy. Wales when they get over their euphoria of beating England will realise they played badly ( though still won so well done). Ireland were beaten up up front. Engalnd looked as dangerous as a rubber sword behind the pack and never looked like scoring - welcom to international rugby Mr Tait!

France were almost beaten by a Scottish team in turmoil in Paris and Scotland lost due to naievety.

Certainly an open contest but I hope the entertainment level increases next weekend!😴😴

I watched the Scotland/France game and the Italy/Ireland game. I thought Scotland played well and deserved victory. The touch judge messed up when the Scotland try was disallowed.

Italy surprised me. I expected Ireland to give them a thumping. Still think Ireland will win the 6N this year though.

Saw the highlights of the England/Wales game and have to say Wales looked at least 10 points better. Anyone see that Henson tacle on the England centre? Had me smiling.

England have now dropped to 4th in the world rankings behind South Africa at four. Sorry just had to get that one in.

Oh and dont get me started on the cricket......

i thought the rugby this weekend was a little disappointing, but for me as a Scott i found the scotland france game exciting, no one thought we had a chace and we almost won, if only pattersons 52m penalty was a few inches futher or if we had not been given foot in touch and scored of if danielli had not tried to run at the end.

Looking at the games i would now say that ireland have the best chance just because they have france and england at home and i cant see france beating england at twickenham.

Speanking of rugby, does anyone jnow what a CV2 number is on a credit card, trying to buy tickets online for scotland wales but i cant find my CV2 number.

Interesting points, the Wales side "playing badly" looked a good 15 points better than the world champions. France are always up and down, who would bet against them destroying England next week?
Scotland played well and it is good for the 6 nations to see them so. Italy are getting stronger every year, (due to the Kiwi influence?) and Ireland were below par but still won, always the sign of a good team.
My predictions for next weekend's matches:
England - France France win
Italy - Wales Wales win
Scotland - Ireland Scotland Win

There is no such thing as a one man team but England without Jonny do look distinctly ordinairy

I saw the Scotland-France game. Rooted for Scotland and very disappointed they lost. They didn't deserve to.

Saw the England-Wales game and rooted for England. Disappointed with the way England played and the result, but it seemed fairly evenly matched to me. Welsh fans will be rightly proud of the win. After all England are supposed to be the better team.

Didn't see the Ireland-Italy game although from the result it looke like Italy game them a game. After all, didn't Italy struggle to score any tries at all last year?

Let's be fair, this is the best Italy pack I've ever seen. And in my honest opinion can compete with any pack in the Northern Hemisphere so I think Ireland did very well to beat them away and it showed the class they have behind the scrum. Irelands pack isn't too shabby either so Wales better watch their step in Rome. Italy are just a little unfortunate this year that they don't have any weak side (Scotland last year, Wales the year before) visiting Rome this year.

Wales were a much better side than England and played a much cleverer game tactically. England didn't have a kicker in midfield and you can't play away from home against a good side unless you can kick from midfield. Martyn Williams was first to the every ball as well and that slowed England's ball they need a quick, brave no 7 with good hands. The reason Wales didn't win by a greater margin was nerves and a lack of belief. We haven't beaten a top team for ages and England had the curse on us before Saturday - if we can overcome Italy next week I'm pretty certain this young team will develop at a phenomenal pace.

I didn't see the Scotland game, but I must admit to a little suprise at the result. Thing is - this is the 6 nations and every game is like a derby match so mayeb Scotland raised their game. Let's see what they do next week before getting carried away. I guess they'll get anhilated by Ireland, even on their own patch.

England - France
Away win unless england can solve their problems at 7, 9, 12 and 13. It depends on centres coming back from injury and either Dawson upping his game or a fresher sharper scrum half coming in.

Italy - Wales Away win
Scotland - Ireland Away win

By the way, I'm reading a book on the wisdom of crowds and would like to put the lessons im learning into effect to sting the bookmaker. Anyone who fancies joining my "crowd" and contributing to then recieving betting tips on the 6 nations and premiership football - please message me your email. No expertise necessary - just the willingness to give your opinion.

I have a feeling this will be England's worst 6 nations in years. I think they will be beat by both France and Ireland, and I think they will have bad games against both Scotland and Italy maybe even losing one (but not both).

Scotland definatly dont have a chance agains england, especially as it is at twickenham, but i think it will be a bad season for england, i think ireland can beat them, but i think you will beat france at the weekend.

Henson did that to the same guy twice. Beautiful, and his kicking was fantastic. I said in the first half that he was going to be man of the match, and then when he was lining up the penalty in the last couple of minutes, it was obvious that he was going to score.

Italy surprised the Irish, I think. Plus our kicking game was shocking in the first half. Our commentators were going on about the Italians using a dodgy ball or something? If we can get O'Driscoll back for all our games, we've got a great chance.

For this weekend I believe England will beat France, Scotland will beat Ireland - O'driscol out and Darcy dodgy - and I think Wales will beat Italy.

My previous comment on Wales playing badly was based mainly on the fact that they wasted several oportuinities to use the overlap. The only time they looked like scoring was when they went in for the try (Still looked far mor threatening than Engalnd mind!).

I just felt that the general standard of rugby was poor last weekend.

As to England being a one one man team and without wilkinson blah blah blah. It is Johnson that we miss more than anyone!

I agree with you. Somehow, they just don't seem to be the same players that won the world championship do they...ummm

So?

Wales and Ireland remain unbeaten, England and Italy yet to win?
Is my prediction accurate?
Actually, yesterdays game England played a lot better, and could have won, with a few favourable referre decisions. Two tries disallowed, and surely the ref should have looked at the video for the second.
Okay, maybe the try they got should have been disallowed as well, but still a better performance.

2 tries disallowed? ROTFL
I am not aware that anyone on the planet witnessed Lewsey ground the ball, Cueto maybe did score but it just rules out England's foul try and if given, the conversion would have been considerably more difficult than after the Corry "try", so England probably scored 2 more points than they deserved.
Nice to hear the England coach bleating like a baby though, the fact that they have ZERO points couldn't have anything to do with poor team selection and uninspired tactics of course? Even Jason Robinson looks subdued, a world class player he is, a world class full back he is NOT.
So will I be cheering on Italy and Scotland against England? Is the Pope catholic?
Maybe England will win the Calcutta Cup and have 200,000 cheer them on an open topped bus parade through London.
Or maybe Jonny Wilkinson will still be injured
