The Darktower (sighs)
Book 1,2 and 3 are easily in my top 10 books of all time, book 4 is an outstanding book as well. However once it gets to book 5 Steven King loses it and as for book 6......pah.....is he trying to annoy people by including himself in the books, "word slinger" urgh. I think he got worried that he might not be remembered after his death and tried to make himself partly immortal. Im quite sure that if he hadnt of waited so long to write books 5 and 6 they would be much better, when he wrote the first book there is no hint at all of Steven King doing something as silleh as including himself in the story. A lot of the recent Steven King books have been total crap, apart from the last Dark Tower book i dont think Steven King can write a good book anymore.

but randall flagg from the stand is one of the main characters from the dark tower as is the superflu in wizard and glass. It really suprised me to find that roland was the father of mia baby. I am anxious to find out what happens in the dixie pig. as far as including himself i think it is necessary for his readers to know that he himself is not the crimson king.

Well the Dark Tower characters appear in King's other books, or feed into them, yes. However, I just dont enjoy them. I've read about 10 of King's others, and with the exception of "The Stand" really did not enjoy any of them. (exclusing the Dark Tower books, which I love)

Example: "Tommyknockers" was one of the worst books I've ever read. It bored me to tears.

As far as King's stories and novels being made into feature films..."Stand By Me" was great, as was "The Shawshank Redemption". The horror genre ones? Pretty pitiful.
