@very-rusty said"Known cause"?
They are a known cause of leukemia. In todays world practically everyone uses mirco waves. There was a time they said cigs wouldn't hurt you either. How WRONG they were eh...It is all about money at the end of the day, including the Microwave. Give us enough time and we will kill ourselves off! 😉

By what mechanism?
According to the Cancer Council:
Microwave ovens do not make foods radioactive. Microwave ovens heat food by producing radiation which is absorbed by water molecules in the food. This makes the water molecules vibrate and produce heat, which cooks the food. Microwaves heat food. They do not make any changes to food that aren’t made in any other cooking method. So they do not make food any more likely to cause cancer. If you follow the instructions for use for a microwave oven there is no known harmful effect on humans.

@very-rusty saidWhere did this statement originate? There's no science to support it.
Exposures of just 4 milligauss have been firmly linked to leukemia. Not surprisingly these magnetic fields have also been categorized as carcinogenic.
@ghost-of-a-duke saidSuppose you're dancing and you bump into a gramophone and it tips over and lands on your foot?
Rusty Alert!
Gramophones are also 'not' dangerous. I repeat, gramophones are not dangerous!

Lots of half mugs of tea down sink.
Kids had cold milk on cereal for breakfast
Had to heat baked beans in a saucepan!
No idea how long to boil frozen peas.

Went out and bought the first one I saw.

No more living like a savage.
@handyandy saidYes sir. Do so at once.
