"Combative" (in subtle ways), "Perfectionist" (in small and inconsequential things)

and "Stubborn" (in principle) are without question three of mine from time to time.

Any of the 'Ten Uglies' belong to you or anybody else on rhp we all know and love?

Criticism is essential and beneficial as long as the recipient considers its source.

So a source of criticism can come from a good source or a bad source.

Can you place me on your list of sources of good or bad? 😉

-m.

(seeing as you are great at lists... 🙂)

Criticism doesn't necessarily imply finding fault. Often it's simply an objection against prejudice or subjective disapproval of a behavior or an evaluation of an object for the sake of understanding. In context, the source of criticism is either qualified or not qualified. Your "good source / bad source" are exceedingly vague and nebulous constructs. You, yourself, are not a whit different from anybody else: with respect to some topics you're qualified to criticize, with others not (whether in my eyes or someone elses).

Too bad VR decided to side-kick for you, he'd have made a perfect sparing partner in your baiting threads.

Please help me understand in what ways welcoming criticism with a measure of selectivity,

and commonsense is somehow tantamount to becoming "Arrogant' or "Argumentative".

Would you accept "know and love" in the figurative conversational sense.

Criticism should be measured on its own merit, rather than measured against the quality of the one who has delivered it...

To ignore based simply on the source is the height of arrogance and is usually only reserved for those whose names start with "uz"!!
