I saw it for the first time last night. My wife & I were really disappointed we could not see it on the big screen but we both loved it. It was a bit darker and edgier than the other great Pixar films. In the beginning, I definitely saw borrowed ideas from "The Watchmen", "The Dark Knight Returns", and "Kingdom Come". Very smart & funny film, worth owning.

Hopefully if there is a Toy Story 3, the original actors will have enough good sense to stay away from it if Pixar is not involved. Hopefully the new management at Disney will get rid of the constant regurgitation of their classic animated movies in waterdown weird sequels (i.e. "The Lion King 1/2?)
I've seen it, my darling. That's how I picked up on Bird's rather blatant fetish.
I doubt there will be a sequel. I keep really close watch on all Pixar's developments and nothing is planned for an Incredibles 2, but the door is definitely left open at the end of the movie for a sequel. Have you heard that Disney is making a Toy Story 3? They ...[text shortened]... nd the script is written by some first-timer who has the toys going to Europe......... Shoot me.
Originally posted by belgianfreakI can't say I felt "cheated" really although sure it was the FF in many respects when referring to the daughter, the mom, and the baby. But would you say Mr.Incredible was "The Thing"? And there wasn't a super fast guy like Dash in the FF. I think the super powers they exhibited were fairly commonplace for your atypical superhero otherwise it would have been too obscure.
did no one else feel cheated that not a single charater was original and the family was blatantly "The Fantastic 4". Or was that the whole point and I just missed it? I guess Marvel would've had something to say about it if they hadn't been in on the act.
The rumormill keeps floating around a FF movie and I have heard possible casting choices as Will Smith for Mr.Fantastic and Vin Diesel as The Thing. Can anyone confirm or deny any truth to this?

I just watched this movie for the second time. I absolutely love it. A well done movie that can be watched by all age groups. Anyone else love this movie?

That Superheroes in it seem carbon copies of favorite heroes from comics was intentional. There is a danger sign with the Captain Marvel style lightning bolt in Bob Parr’s cubicle, and his new car has the old Superman emblem on the hood. And the final scene with the appearance of The Underminer pays homage to cover of the first Fantastic Four comic book.

I've seen a trailer for this and despite Jessica Alba in latex, which is always a good thing, the film looks rubbish. But then what did you expect? Now if they did an animation of either Dark Knight returns or The Watchmen, that would be worth watching.
I bought the DVD and it had the special features with deleted scenes. I thought the movie was great but I think I like the alternate beginning better than the one used. Does anyone else feel the same? This was a bit dark compared to the other Pixar films and I think that's why I like it so much 🙂
