Christianity is all about Blood!! God needs Blood to get past His anger at all of humanity. His only Son had to be killed to get the rest of humanity out of burning in eternal torment. It's one beautiful religion. Blood is the jiuce that calms God down.
Originally posted by C BroylesI'm wondering how many of these people have actually watched the movie, or is it the same type of people who jumped on the 'ban Last Temptation of Christ/Life of Brian' bandwagon. I'll admit that the Jewish leader is portrayed as a nasty person who is intent on killing Jesus, but I don't think he is portrayed as representing the Jewish community in his attitudes.
There has been a little bit of controversy here! People are sayin that it is a movie that is disrespecting the Jews....but no one is making anyone see the movie...😕
The other complaint I've heard is that this move doesn't follow scripture closely enough, but being based on only the last 12 hours of Christs life there isn't enough to fill a movie. Instead it focus' on the human angle (it's pretty bloody and gruesome) and man's inhumanity to man, whether or not he is the son of God.
Now all I've got to do is see the movie instead of clips & reviews & I'll be able to form a fuller opinion

I'm 28, Ivanhoe.

Originally posted by C BroylesJesus wasn't killed by one group of people...he had to die to fulfill prophesy, so in essence we ALL had something to do with his death. The Romans were the ones who nailed him to the cross, perhaps some Jewish leaders wanted him dead because of the heresy that they perceived from his teachings, but it doesn't matter WHO killed him because God sent him to earth to do just that: DIE
I do not agree with that!! I do not think that the Jews killed Christ, but thats just me! 😀
If one group hadn't killed him, it would have been another group because prophesy had to be fulfilled. I think more emphasis should be placed on WHY he died that who killed him. Just my opinion

Bbarr has distinguished himself in these forums by the consistent rigor and objectivity of his argumentation, and his laudable habit of doggedly pursing the issue at hand even while his unappreciative discussants are casting undeserved aspersions upon him. One can only wonder why he bothers to grace us with such a volume of contributions!

Originally posted by ivanhoeMy first post was serious, Ivanhoe. Given the current public debate about the historical accuracy of the film, and the outcry from Jewish communities concerning the portrayal of Jews in the film, I thought it apropos to mention that some Chritians are reacting to the film in a very mean-spirited way. Many Jews around here were concerned that their portrayal would foment anti-semitism. Signs like the one I mentioned indicate that the concerns of the Jewish community were justified.

My second post was just for fun, and could only be construed as offensive by the pig-headed.
As to your last comment, I might as well ask you: "Why are you so easily offended, Ivanhoe, are you merely compensating for a lack of faith?"
Given that you don't really know me, and I don't really know you, why don't we both just leave out the personal speculations and jack-psychology.
