Was that the whole story?

It reminds me a little of The Catcher in The Rye.
Yep, that's it. I had the book http://tinyurl.com/353syf a long time ago. He wrote it because his daughter came home from school one day, recited the Pledge of Allegiance, and asked for a dime. Instead of giving it to her, he asked her what the Pledge meant.

Falling off?

As in not fully growing up? I'm sad to realise that many, many adults have not fully grown up by the time they ought have and for various reasons too. Some becasue they don't know how to perhaps becasue as you sugest they havenot been alowed to think for themselves and some becasue they simply don't want to.

Oh, okay, I see.

It would be nice to think that everyone eventually falls off then. Some maybe a little later in live then others...I don't know any old people who haven't left that way of thinking or never quiet grew up- but then I guess people who never fall off might not actually reach a ripe old age.

Salutes, Smaug! Good that you took the initiative to get your gut on

the table, on a quiet Friday night, and we all are the beneficiaries.

"Great 21st Century Novel" is moving along nicely, in jerks and starts,

but needs nurturing. Know anybody willing to lend a hand? 🙂

Edit: Just noticed the work in progress has migrated to page two.

I don't know about that, maybe it's more that you have connected (not that you chose them, but that you chose to connect) that you have realised they fell off?

I hope you are just being pesimistic here, I hope it won't be that way. Humans can be so strong and we can be unpredictable 😉

Anyhow time for me to sleep, you can change things in the career you have chosen and I can change things for my childern.

Is that ten percent truly 'falling off' though, or are they simply being repackaged and carrying on through out the process. I know I see things differently to the majority, but I tend not to do anything about it. I am appeased by my little carrot on its string.
You complain that we are the majority led by the greedy minority when in fact, perhaps, we are the greedy minority ourselves, having obscene amounts of possessions whilst billions starve.
Are we not the guilty party?
