WHEN YOU ARE OLD
"When you are old and grey and full of sleep,
And nodding by the fire, take down this book,
And slowly read, and dream of the soft look
Your eyes had once and of their shadows deep;
How many loved your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true,
But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,
And loved the sorrows of your changing face;
And bending down beside the glowing bars,
Murmur, a little sadly, how Love fled
And paced upon the mountains overhead
And hid his face amid a crowd of stars."
~William Butler Yeats (1889-1939)

Things You're Happy About Today
Few of mine include that the left ankle poolside ping pong injury, this past August, is finally beginning to heal; that the NFL point spread coverage/team performance index stats refined from 2008 have begun to provide an equilibrium profile, which is informing my picks in both a Texas and Niagara Falls (Canada) 20 ...[text shortened]... rusted friends on Red Hot Pawn since July, 2007.
How about a few of yours...

Happiness today:
Day off from 1 job (NEVER happens on a Friday)
Strong offer on a house in the second job 🙂
Time to clean house, cook dinner and take a nap.
What could be better?
I just got up from a four hour nap to clean up and sort out dinner.
😉
Why this is the most beautiful, life-affirming thread I have seen in a long time! Thanks Grampy Bobby. My eyes are tearing up a bit and I feel like babbbling sentimentally about all the many things I am happy about. The biggest has to be the recent rocket attack on the moon. Every time the full moon is out the crime rate goes up and so maybe this will teach it a lesson. That foul orb must pay!
I heard they found an Al Qeida cell up there on the moon. What amazes me is NASA and the US government can still find ways to blow hundreds of millions of dollars of taxpayer money each year while our infrastructure, such as dams, roads, bridges and power lines are falling apart. If you are so concerned about finding water, how about spending that money on desal plants every 100 miles up and down our coasts. Look at the desert/oil rich nations in Dubai, United Arab Emirates etc. They use them. Look at the poor folks dying in Africa in their drought stricken regions. People dying by the hundreds from starvation....no crops and dying cattle. And we are firing fing rockets at the moon! Wake the fk up!
On a brighter note, I am happy that my family and I are healthy, I have a great job, am financially secure and I am into my 4th cold beer!
I am happy that there are still Gramp Bobby threads.
Nice to see the Morons, and clown Clique haven't driven him away. Perhaps their time will come eventually...Well here is wishing anyways!
Everyone have a Great Day and weekend!
OH, When I say everyone I don't MEAN EVERYONE and you know who you are, no need mentioning any names! 😛 😉
