Happy to learn a new world class phrase...'Suaviter in modo, fortiter in re':

Gentle in manner, resolute in execution (from Mathurine's RHP Profile).

Today, Hand, I'm also happy about the new C&W song I heard, "God is Great, Beer is Good and People

are Crazy"... and also about Rene Descartes' contribution... "I think, therefore (on a good day) I am".

Few of mine include that the left ankle poolside ping pong injury, this past August, is finally beginning to heal; that the NFL point spread coverage/team performance index stats refined from 2008 have begun to provide an equilibrium profile, which is informing my picks in both a Texas and Niagara Falls (Canada) 20 ...[text shortened]... rusted friends on Red Hot Pawn since July, 2007.

How about a few of yours...

I'm happy that I'm on my first vacation in four years and it's going to rain for five out of the next six days. I'm happy that I decided to try and look after my wife and invite her family along for the vacation. I'm happy that my six-year-old niece decided to bang billiard balls together while I was doing work for my Master's program. I'm happy there was a Pokemon movie playing in the background while I was working. I'm happy that my sister-in-law felt that the best spot to rock her colicky nine-month old (the six-year-old's little brother) was right outside my bedroom door. I'm happy that my mother-in-law told me I shouldn't have a second pulled pork sandwich because I need to start watching my weight.

Fantastic expression of grace under pressure and an inclination to smile in the face of adversities.

As Lord Byron noted, it takes a very young and happy man to enjoy the nuances of melanchloy.

Wonderful news, Zort Boy... just remember that job security = being worth more than you cost + continuing

to grow professionally to strengthen the organization's bench depth and qualify for progressive promotions.

........................

I'm particularly excited it's Sunday... NFL Football Game Day and a day off from my low paying job at RHP.

Job security is one of the reasons I am changing jobs. I'll still be a manager in the retail industry just in a larger store with more staff to look after.

That my NFL Football 'underdog best bet of the week', Atlanta Falcons,

won handily (45 to 10) and that, so far, a total 8 of 13 dogs prevailed.

P.S. Fleabitten, wondering if your results are favorable for Week #5.

Broke even. Took the Giants minus the points only to give it back with the Jags.

Happy simply for being happy. Happy that summer ended with a whimper and time for the better appreciated heat from firewood. Happy that the newspaper will soon be less cluttered with BB sections with endless blather about teams I don't care for. Happy Texas-OU is rolling into town. Happy that time is pressing and the water's rising. Happy for being able to appreciate melancholy moments!
