If you've been waiting for the official perspective of this whole ordeal, you've done yourself a favor by avoiding making up your mind until after reading this post. Congratulations on your self-control.

E.T. Woods built an empire... a kingdom, if you will. Although the kingdom was in existence prior to his arrival on the scene, its existence was in name only. His impact on the kingdom is so pronounced, we can justifiably label all time before him as BT and all time after AT. He is the Martin Luther of his sport.

He elevated golf from a hobby into an industry. He transformed what was formerly a stodgy old man's arcane past time into a national obsession which spawned--- among myriad revenue streams--- trade shows based on the tools of its functions. Whole companies owe their positions to his existence, let alone those who have benefited from his endorsements. It is one thing to consider the impact of an entity with direct influence; quiet another to consider an entity which crosses multiple boundaries. Like the ocean, Tiger elevated all boats on the water.

Not once did Tiger stand up to say,"Hello, world, I am the epitome of what a man can be." Neither did he ever foist himself upon the masses as the templar of husbandry, fatherhood or any other of the noble callings in life. He stood up and asked us to notice his golf playing. Did you see that dot at the end of the last sentence? That's what's known in grammatical circles as a period.

How DARE the very bottom-feeding, crap-sucking, blood-thirsty low-life's who profited (i.e., sold newspapers) as a result of their coverage of his every move now turn to crucify him for something wholly and totally unrelated to anything remotely close to his stated mission. How DARE those companies whose sole existences (or at least a large portion of their coveted black numbers) are tied so closely to his reformation stand at distances, arms crossed in their self-righteous indignation (read: marketing group analysis) askance they view his impropriety(s). What a bunch of hypocrites.

If anyone needs therapy, if anyone should be begging the public for forgiveness, it should be the media and the companies that dropped him. I am FREAKING appalled that these vultures have been given so much power as to shape the public consciousness to such a twisted and manipulative way as to shame someone for doing what pretty much any one would do in the exact same scenario. He is a king, not a man. Judge him as such.

[hidden] don't post the UIDs of guys whose username is similar or identical to Tiger Woods. There's only so many times you can do that and it be funny[/hidden]
Her name is in this article: http://msn.foxsports.com/golf/story/report-tiger-woods-mistresses-apology-022010

Apparently she feels her good name has been damaged and she "would be open to a telephone apology" from Tiger.

😀 Funny Stuff!

As if they didn't know they were with a Married Man!

Was anyone more well known in the world?

Wouldn't the women actually owe Elin an apology. 😉

You're right; if Tiger Woods hadn't had sex outside of his marriage, adultery would be a thing of the past.
Your innate cynicism come through loud and clear! Adultery is a very real problem. Wrecks marriages, results in myriad societal problems such as divorce, unwanted children, crappy parenting. I guess all that is alright with you!

Did you have a problem when President Clinton strayed? How about back before that with President Kennedy?

You almost sound like someone who is jealous of Tiger Woods.
Jealous of Woods? Why? Plastred over the boob tube, scorned, ridiculed, lost tons of money, possibly abused by spouse, made into skits on SNL. Enviable indeed! Don't bring scumbag Clinton up! He soiled the office of the presidency in more ways than one. How pathetic to have sex with an intern. Some leader of the free world Clinton was. hillary lost the nomination in great measure because no one wanted Clinton running around WH with no responsibilities.

And your innate naiveté regarding the topic blinds you to the reality of the real issues.

He seemed quite concerned that people who looked up to him no longer had any faith in him. It was touching that he showed concern about his children and wife. It's a pity that it was after the fact. Any thoughts, anyone?
I'd be inclined to leave Mr. Woods' alone for the moment. He said all the right things, but his actions in the months and years to follow will speak louder to me than his little speech.😏

Hey, Wake Up!!

Adultry happens everyday in all walks of life!

Clinton was actually one of the better Presidents in my opinion! Kennedy was quite possibly better. Their straying from the marriage bed didn't make them bad Presidents!

Hillary lost because people didn't want Hillary! Nothing to do with Bill!

anyone that felt "hurt" or "lied to" because Tiger Woods banged a bunch of girls is on crack. Why he apologised to anyone is beyond me. The only one he had to apologise to is his kids. If you went out and bought a buick because you saw a commercial on tv with Tiger woods standing in front of it, then you're an idiot that deserves to be taken advantage of.

News flash...sports athletes aren't heroes just because they are good at a sport. If you want to see a hero, go down to your local hospital and watch the nurses and doctors and see what they do. Hang out in the sick kids section and ask yourself if your "faith" in some dumb-ass sports figure makes any sense to you.

Good riddance Tiger. Go play golf and stop apologizing for your loose zipper. Maybe now the TV will show more of the other golfers instead of All tiger-All the time.

Naive is 100 times better than blind cynicism and tacit approval of crappy behavior. The press who you so want out Tiger's life did not unzip his pants nor pull them down. Responsibility is squarely Tiger's not the press. According to you they should simply shut up? And you call me naive?
