My other half has become very jealous because i plan to go on holiday this Year on my own.
She is going away in July, and she had planned to go to Italy in October with her Italian Flatmate aswell......Is this double standards or what ?

The big question of the day ......do i book or not ? I might not get the same rates if i wait much longer, and i really want to go.

then go ... from what it seems like, her life belongs to her, don't make your life hers too. well, for now at least, not until she's prepared to sacrifise some of her freedom for you.

Never mind the same rates, you might not get a holiday if she doesn't want you to go anywhere without her.
One rule for her and another for you, oooh Huck, what you gonna do??? πŸ™‚

She booked her holiday before i met her, and to be fair, she is going home....i'm just not too sure what to do.

Ask her! Is she going to take another holiday with you, or are you going somewhere on your own? That gives her a choice. πŸ™‚

Go on holidays. You're both adults with your own lives to live first and foremost - unless you've worked very quickly into the death-hole of committed sharing of everything. I have entered into that death-hole (I live with and share all bills and expenses and cleaning and cooking with my girlfriend - it's all very grown up really) and even I would be allowed to go on holiday without her if I wanted. We have an agreement - we each get to have our own lives, so long as we're not doing anything stupid, it also gives us crap to talk about.

Go away in July and October at the same time. Problem solved! You may not be together but she's on vacation so she can't complain you are on vacation!

Book. I had exactly the same argument with an ex. She wanted to go on holiday but point blank refused to agree on anything so i booked a holiday and went without her. Best holiday i ever had!

Tell her you're getting relationship advice from online chess "friends", and your problem should be solved in a matter of moments.

I suppose the real question, huck, is: "Where are you going on holiday on your own?" πŸ˜›

πŸ˜€ And: "Are you really going on your own, solo, without friends or paid companions?" 😲 😲 😲

Beyond those details, assuming there are no complicating factors ~ jealousy & possessiveness are both natural and quite poisonous.

The whole episode might be a great test of the relationship and your ability to tolerate each other "through thick and thin".
