Yup. It's only temporary, except for an occasional end-of-tongue one which can stick around for days.
But I live where I can only get the rough-leaf kind with the small top stalk. When i visit the region where the smooth-leaf variety grows I can pig out, because its acid level is much lower. Pity it doesn’t store or travel well.

Yes, that’s the point; I can eat it only if it’s ripened on the tree, not in transit.
