I was grocery shopping this evening when I decided to try something new. So I was in the dairy section of the store and I saw a quart of buttermilk. I will never drink buttermilk again. It was so thick and the taste was just bad.

It's not for drinking unless you're from the south! It's for cooking -- great in cornbread and biscuits.

Really, people should talk to Auntie Reader before they do these things!

That'll teach you not to try something new. 😲

After I drank half a glass, I thought that it would be great to cook with.

My great grandmother used to drink it. That's why I wanted to try it.

I'll try that tomorrow. I don't think I could handle anymore tonight.

Buttermilk is an odd drink. I used to drink it at my great grandmother's house. It is best when it's ice cold, and with a bit of salt.
It makes great ranch dressing. 🙂

Buttermilk ranch is awesome. It wasn't very cold when I drank it (I mean it was cold but not really cold probably like 50 degrees or so). How much salt do you put in it?

I went to the supermarket and picked up 1/4 pound of liverwurst for a party. They made sandwiches from it and said it was great, but I almost barfed in the bag after just smelling it.

That's pretty bad. It's got to be pretty bad when the smell makes you sick.

Just a pinch or two of salt, then stir it.

Thanks. I didn't want to over salt it.

You remind me of my friend Gary. He told me "Those darn Preparation H pills don't work! I've taken one every day for 3 days now and all they do is make my throat feel funny."

Ummm... "They aren't meant to be swallowed, Gary. They are Suppositories."

You can always add a little more, but you can't take it out, unless you're McGiver. 😕

True. I'll just take it one shake at a time.
