I got his great tv but the cable input connection is broken off.

So I can only use RCA wires and watch Dvd's right now.

Are there VCR or Dvd players out there which you can plug the cable into and then hook it up to the TV through RCA wires so you can watch tv?

I have one VCR which I plugged the cable into but then I attached it to the tv with another cable wire. I'm not sure if I can attach the vcr to the tv with just the RCA wires?

edit: I'll go experiment 🙂

Don't be a cheapskate and just get it repaired. It only cost me about €25 to do a couple of years ago.

RCA jacks are sub-standard to the cable balon. You can rig it to work with RCA jacks and splitters, but your picture quality will suffer. Then you have to install an inline amp to boost your signal. TV's are pretty cheap these days. If you can't afford a new TV, fix the old cable balon. $50.00 or less should get it fixed by a repair shop.

If all you need to do is replace the connector on your coax cable, try your local hardware store. They usually will have replacement connectors that come with illustrated instructions. I think they even have kits that do not require any special tools.

Well you see the problem is that it's not my tv. It's my brother's and i'm not allowed to open it.

I love watching dvd's on it, but wouldn't mind watching tv on it also. It's much nicer then my old tv.

What happen was that thing where you screw your cable wire into broke off, and glue does not work 🙁

Argg...I tried messing around with the RCA wires, DVD and VCR but no luck.

Not being able to open the back is a complication. If you can, the whole thing becomes visible from the inside, except you will have a cable connected to the internal parts of the TV, so taking off the back can be tedius but not THAT big a deal, usually the cable to the internal parts has a connector like a small RCA so you can probably get it out. No big deal for me but getting it out without taking off the back, thats another issue. You could try cutting out around the connector and getting to it that way, say about three inches around to leave enough to glue back. You can't just glue the connector together, it has to have good electrical contact. Another tact could be to solder wires to the inside connection and then to the stub of the outside and maybe making a connector fit sideways somehow but with enough room to reconnect. Its tougher not being able to get the back off for sure.

Holey Schlamoley! Is it a $3000 Tv? Buy a new one for the basement.
$100. Time is money. You'll find this out when you get a job!

That's a stalker...

Ps, I wouldn't talk about someone's mom, especially a Russian mother.

You never know who they know!

Hevahava?

Do you even know what the Hammerschlag is?

I think you should stick with the Hippopotamus.

I will do you good.
