which is the best: rugby league, rugby union (yay!) or american football? i'd say union. why? well, bacause it's much more flowing and nicer to watch/play. with league and football, the game is stopped every few seconds/minutes-but not with union! i can't really talk about football-but with league it's just some big blokes runnging at other big blokes wit ...[text shortened]... ere are more breakaways/kicks (there's less risk in kicking with union)...so-which is better?!?
If you are looking for smashmouth, bone crunching action, rugby is where it is at. But, American football, by spreading the players apart, allows for more skill and individualism. But, that is my opinion.
scotland are playing the US at union soon, so you might get too se that on your TV. as for the differences between league and union, league only has 13 players, and when your tackled you must roll the ball between your feet. with union, there are 15 players, and when your tackled 8 of them start shoving and pushing and basically fighting over the ball above you...π

If the following are true, could someone explain to me why:
1. In American football each side needs about three whole teams, depending on which side has the ball and if it's a special play or not;
2. An American football game takes about 3 hours for an hour's play?
2. It's actually a relativistic effect. Time dilates around massive bodies, and two teams of 20-stone barbarians easily fit the bill. They only experience 1 hour π.

props (2/3rds of the front row) are usually fat slobs who are just there for the weight-or at least in scotland west division B they are...π
BTW, I like league because it's a bit quicker (but if you like running rugga, watch 7's) but Union just has that little something extra, because there is more structure and tactics involved...
Originally posted by Crowleyit is usually with club rugby, i think. but with professional? well...:p but yeah-7's is much better than union. although it's torture to play π

Welcome coach.Hope you are going to have a blast.I am a union man.League seems boring to me.(Awaiting a fierce attack from Dylan)Grid Iron is Greek to me.I have no clue as to what happens there.I have heard that union will never take off in the US as the game is too short and does not allow for enough ad breaks.Pity really.
As far as Australian Rules go ...[text shortened]... s and why does the guy behind the posts use his hands to indicate the size of his... erm anyway.
I thinkthe game which is better is often going to be the one that one understands best. Explaing the intricies of what goes on in the front row (union as league scrumes are pointless) or indeed at the bottom of a ruck. Being one of the fat boys I find hard fought forward contests as good to watch as the free flrowing stuff. Anyway Union is best league can be exciting if decent teams are playing and Gridiron a bit girlie - by the was the heavy blokes running 40yds in sub 5 sec have to take oxygen afterwards don't theyπ
