I agree, the LibDems will easily get that sort of vote.
The problem (for them) is that this doesn't translate into seats. They'll still have less than 100 seats.
All down to Westminster's crappy voting system.

Read the following plicy statements, if you want a quick refutation of this claim. It is neither the case that John Kerry is far left, nor is it the case that he hasn't a substantive platform. Gregoftheweb is simply ignorant on this point. ...[text shortened]... re detailed policy statements can be found at www.johnkerry.com.
Both of those documents confirm his stance as a far left liberal. What exactly did I say that made me look ignorant? To argue that the central theme of his and all the democrat candidate campaigns is NOT hatred of Bush is just foolish.

My point is that 90% of the people have made up their minds.

To me when democrats begin arguments about Bush with phrases like "he's stupid" (this about a Harvard Business School graduate no less) or that he is a deserter (this about someone with an honorable discharge) the rest of their arguments fall on deaf ears. The spin is SOOO thick on both sides of the aisle that its hard to find the heart of the matter.

Here is a quick little issue poll to confirm who you should vote for.

http://news.mpr.org/collections/special/2004/campaign/selectacandidate/selectapres.shtml

On the issues listed I agreee with Bush 66% of the time and Kerry is second at 25%. Of course this is only a brief top level survey but it is interesting nonetheless.

Another point, saying that John Kerry is not far left is ignorant on YOUR part. He is more liberal than Teddy Kennedy. He scored a 92% with the "Americans for Democratic Action" a VERY liberal organization. You obviously are not well informed (to keep the same patronizing tone that you used).

interesting poll, but on many of the questions I would like none of the above. Bush was my lowest score, but some of the skips, I probably lean closer to his view than the rest.

I'm not sure how much real trouble Blair is in though. Recently he is making a right mess of judging the public mood and failing to spin things in his favour.
Yet the opposition is pathetic. Even with Blair repeatedly shooting himself in the foot he is favourite to take the next election.
I haven't seen any polls for a while but are the Tories cathcing up? ...[text shortened]... quabbling amongst themselves.
The local and European elections this year should be interesting.
Labour have 5% lead!!
